Two members of the Burmese pop group Me N Ma Girls recently visited children at a welfare shelter in Kuala Lumpur, the New Straits Times reported on Wednesday. The singers Ah Moon and Kimi sang, spoke and read books to the children during the impromptu visit, said the Malaysian daily. “Despite ethnic and religious differences, the girls quickly developed a bond with the children,” said Ven. Datuk K. Sri Dhammaratana Nayaka Maha Thero, the founder of the Ti-Ratana Welfare Society. As Burma’s first all-girl band, Me N Ma Girls has a wide following both at home and among Burmese living abroad.
