Police in Malaysia have arrested one person and are searching for several others in connection with the attempted assassination of two ethnic Arakanese leaders in Kuala Lumpur last month, reports Malaysia’s state-run Bernama news agency. On Feb. 5, two men on a motorcycle fired six shots at a car in which Dr Aye Maung and Arakan and Aye Thor Aung of the Arakan National Party were riding in the Malaysian capital. Police said they recently arrested a Burmese national suspected of involvement in the case, and are now tracking down several other Burmese and Thai nationals.
