India is ramping up its participation in Burma’s IT and farming sectors, the Hindustan Times reported Tuesday. A task force lead by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s advisor on skill development, S. Ramadorai, is working to establish the Myanmar Institute of Information Technology (MITT) in Burma as it seeks to boost ties with its Southeast Asian neighbor, the English-language daily reported. India has also offered to create a Rice Bio Park in Burma to develop techniques of rice biomass utilization, and both countries are expected to collaborate in cardamom production in the Naga Self-Administered Zone along the border.
