DOPE Vol. 13: Party Hip Hop/Trap/R&B

Volume 13 of DOPE: Hip Hop, Trap, R&B party will happen Oct. 18 at BOX on the fourth floor of Myanmar Plaza. DJ U Zaw Gyi, Michael Xeno – XXXL, Loopy Soul and Black Birdz will bring everything from old school hip-hop and R&B classics to the newest Trap Rap. The party is all about hip-hop, fat bass lines and dirty beats: be ready to get down low at this bouncing hip-hop party. Yangon Then & Now Expo 2019

The first Yangon Hotel Expo 2019 is already underway, organized by Fill-in Design and Event collaborating with the Myanmar Hotelier Association, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, the Yangon Region Government and Yangon Heritage Trust. The show aims to promote the travel and tourism industry in Myanmar by revealing the hidden treasures of Yangon. Visitors will be able to experience the lifestyle of Yangonites during the show and learn about Yangon’s multiple attractions and activities.

Happy Disease’s II Art Exhibition

Local renowned contemporary artist M.P.P Yei Myint is holding an art show, “Happy Disease’s II,” at the Pansuriya Art Gallery located on Bogalay Zay street in Botahtaung Township, Yangon. He named this event “Happy Disease’s II” because he was happy and delighted when he painted this series. Yei Myint was born in Myingyan, a city in Mandalay Region in upper Myanmar in 1953. He studied at the State School of Fine Arts in Mandalay under U Win Pe, a protagonist of the modern art movement. He held solo exhibitions in Yangon from 1979 to 1981. His work has been shown in over 30 individual and group exhibitions, not only in Myanmar but across Asia and Europe, in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Germany and Finland. His artworks can be observed in the National Art Gallery of Singapore, Malaysia’s National Art Gallery and the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum in Japan.

Sampan Travel’s Supper Club

At Sampan Travel’s Supper Club, you will have the opportunity to try food from far-flung regions of the country as well as listen to people from those regions who now serve their food in Yangon. Guests will be treated to a starter upon arrival, followed by three courses from different regions of the country. This will be followed by sweets from the dry zone, tea from Pindaya and coffee from Ywangan, both in Shan State’s Danu Self-Administered Zone. Wine from Southern Shan and Burbritt Brewery will be served throughout. Tickets are US$30 per person for adults and US$15 for children.
