Japanese telecom company KDDI announced on Tuesday that it will open an office in Burma’s Rangoon, as the country is expected to undergo a rapid growth in communications technology services, which remain largely undeveloped. The company said it will establish a “KDDI Myanmar Business Center” that will provide “office space with IT infrastructure and maintenance/operation services to support rapid business launches in Myanmar.” It will also “offer Japanese-quality network construction and ICT infrastructure support services, provided by Japanese citizens or proficient Japanese speakers.”
