Tokyo Paralympics to See Record Number of Competing Nations
By Kyodo News 3 January 2020
TOKYO—This year’s Tokyo Paralympics will set a participation record with athletes from around 170 national organizing bodies competing, surpassing the record 164 bodies that took part in the 2012 London games, a source with knowledge of the matter said Thursday.
This raises hope that the efforts of Japan’s government and the International Paralympic Committee will deliver a celebration that enhances the acceptance of people of different nationalities and religions as well as the disabled in more and more developing and warring nations.
