The junta has added a charge that carries the death penalty against Ko Wai Moe Naing.
Pro-democracy activists Ko Jimmy and Ko Phyo Zeya Thaw face the death sentence. The Irrawaddy joins the nation in demanding that they be allowed to live.
They were accused of killing an informant and attacking regime targets in Yangon; more than 110 people have been condemned to die by junta courts.
This week the regime’s media made much of its arrest of ex-MP U Phyo Zeya Thaw, but said little about its leader’s exclusion from international meetings.
