Burma's hardline monk Wirathu is pictured at an urgent meeting held on Thursday by the controversial Association for the Protection of Race and Religion, also known by its Burmese acronym, Ma Ba Tha. The event was held in response to criticism from Rangoon Chief Minister Phyo Min Thein about the ultra-nationalist organization during his recent trip to Singapore, in which he deemed Ma Ba Tha an "unnecessary" group in Burma.
