As part of a Silver Jubilee to commemorate the 1988 pro-democracy uprising in Burma, a collection of archival images has been put on display this week at the Myanmar Convention Center in Rangoon. During the nationwide uprising 25 years ago, hundreds of thousands of Burmese joined demonstrations to end the 26-year dictatorship of Gen Ne Win. The military government crushed the protests, killing thousands of people.
