WASHINGTON/TAIPEI—US President Donald Trump’s administration will send its UN ambassador, Kelly Craft, to Taiwan, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Wednesday in a move blasted by China.
It will be the first visit to Taiwan by a US ambassador to the United Nations since 1971, when Beijing’s accession to the world body led to the loss of Taiwan’s UN seat, according to Taiwan media.
