The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) says it and its allies seized two more junta bases in the Mogoke ruby hub in northern Mandalay Region on Monday.
The TNLA and its allies occupied the Pann Ma Hteik village base and another position at Mogoke prison to the east of the town, the armed group said.
During the raids, resistance troops said they found 20 junta bodies and seized five weapons, a drone and ammunition.
Offensives continue in Nawnghkio Township, northern Shan State, on Monday by the TNLA and Mandalay People’s Defense Force (PDF).
On Monday afternoon, the TNLA attacked the junta’s Thae Khaw village position in the township. Three civilians were killed and two injured on Monday in junta shelling of three villages.
Clashes occurred in adjacent Kyaukme Township as TNLA troops attacked a junta toll gate and regime-held monastery, the armed group said.
The junta shelled Nant Huu Taung village in Kyaukme Township on Monday, seriously injuring two civilians, including a child.
Clashes have occurred in Kyaukme, Nawnghkio, Hispaw and Mongmit townships in northern Shan State and Mandalay, Singu and Mogoke townships in northern Mandalay Region since June 25 as the TNLA, a member of the Brotherhood Alliance resumed Operation 1027 along with several other groups.
The Myanmar Nationalities Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), another member of the Brotherhood Alliance, has been attempting to seize Lashio, the capital of northern Shan State, since July 3.
A total of 317 regime troops, including a lieutenant colonel, two majors and five captains from junta bases defending the Lashio, surrendered to the MNDAA on Sunday, the armed group said.
The junta frequently conducts airstrikes in Hseni and Laukkai towns, which were seized by the MNDAA last year.
Junta airstrikes killed around 10 civilians and damaged houses and infrastructure.
TNLA said on Monday that 109 civilians had been killed and 136 injured by junta shelling and airstrikes since the resumption of Operation 1027 on June 25.
The Brotherhood Alliance and its allies have seized around 90 junta bases and taken control of four towns as well as a large part of Mogoke Township in northern Shan and parts of Mandalay Region.
