At least 42 Myanmar junta forces were reportedly killed in the past seven days as People’s Defense Force groups (PDFs) and ethnic armed organizations (EAOs) continued to attack regime targets across the country.
Incidents were reported in Chin and Karen states and Mandalay, Magwe, Sagaing and Tanintharyi regions.
The Irrawaddy has collected the following reports of significant attacks from PDFs and EAOs.
Some military casualties could not be independently verified.
Clashes erupt in Kanpetlet town

At least three regime forces were killed in Kanpetlet Township, Chin State on Wednesday when Chin Defense Force (Kanpetlet) attacked regime forces stationed at the junta-controlled township administration and education offices in Kanpetlet town, the ethnic resistance group said.
Due to a lack of heavy weapons, all resistance members had to retreat from the town despite managing to surround the regime bases.
Regime forces attacked in Magwe’s Yesagyo town

Yesagyo PDF said it attacked 15 regime forces guarding a park compound where two junta-appointed administrators of the city development committee are living, in Yesagyo Town, Magwe Region on Thursday.
An injured regime soldier was transported to the public hospital in the town. All resistance fighters retreated from the area without casualties, the group said.
Military checkpoint attacked in Tanintharyi

Tanintharyi Region PDF claimed to have killed an army captain and another soldier as it and Myeik District PDF Battalion 2 attacked a junta checkpoint of military Light Infantry Battalion 561 in Nyaung Pin Kwin Village on Thursday morning.
There were no resistance casualties. Due to the frequent resistance attacks, several regime forces have defected from Battalion 561. This month, a soldier from the battalion defected to Tanintharyi Region PDF along with his firearm. The soldier was awarded 3.6 million kyats (US$1,710) in cash for surrendering with the weapon, the resistance group said.
Several regime forces killed in series of clashes in Karen

Dooplaya District authority of the Karen Nation Union (KNU) said 36 regime forces were killed and six others injured in Kawkareik Township, Karen State as its armed wing the Karen National Defense Organization (KNDO) and other resistance groups attacked regime forces from three battalions stationed in Taung Kyar Inn Village in Kyondoe town for five days from Sept. 22 to 26.
Two resistance fighters suffered injuries. The regime forces blocked the villages and looted the houses of residents who fled.
Military flotilla ambushed in Sagaing

A series of clashes broke out in Monywa and Salingyi townships, Sagaing Region on Thursday when several resistance groups ambushed a military flotilla of 15 barges and three gunboats from many locations along the Chindwin River, according to the resistance groups that coordinated the ambushes.
The flotilla, which was transporting jade, copper and logs, was ambushed while traveling from Monywa to Salingyi. Details of the damage and military casualties were unknown.
Hero Fighter resistance group said it and four resistance groups used heavy weapons and firearms to ambush an advance military gunboat of the junta flotilla on Wednesday while it was heading to Salingyi from Monywa on the Chindwin River. Some explosives hit the gunboat, but military casualties were unknown.
Police station bombed in Mandalay

At least one junta policeman was killed and four injured in Madaya Township, Mandalay Region on Wednesday when resistance fighters involved in anti-regime Operation Myananda and Madaya PDF jointly used a makeshift remote-controlled airplane to drop three bombs on the police station in Yay Nanthar Village, where 50 regime soldiers and police are stationed, the resistance groups said.
After being bombed, regime forces blocked the village and checked all civilians. Also, two ambulances were used to transport injured troops to the hospital.
The group said one of their improvised planes was shot down by regime forces while conducting strikes on a military unit of 100 troops in Madaya on Thursday morning.
