The Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) says it has detained more than 20 alleged Myanmar junta informants who helped regime airstrikes to target the northern Shan State capital, Lashio.
In early August, the MNDAA and its allies liberated Lashio and the regime has since conducted numerous airstrikes on the city, killing up to nine people.
An MNDAA member said some of those detained had been released but others have been found guilty of participating in the airstrikes.
The member said no death penalties had been handed out.
The Brotherhood Alliance of the MNDAA, Arakan Army (AA) and Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) launched Operation 1027 in October last year and has seized most of northern Shan State.
The TNLA and its allies are continuing their efforts to occupy the remaining junta bases in Hsipaw and Nawnghkio townships in northern Shan.
The AA has seized most of Rakhine State since November last year and its offensive is continuing.
Junta airstrikes continue on liberated territory.
Since the junta boss Min Aung Hlaing in early September vowed to retake lost territory, his air force conducted more than 150 airstrikes, killing around 200 civilians.
