Rangoon – Rangoon-based stock exchange expert Makota Sukoma died in a paragliding accident in India last week.

Makota Sukoma, 38, served as stock exchange expert in Rangoon for more than five years. Indian media reported that he died in a paragliding accident in India’s Himachal Pradesh, popular with both domestic and foreign tourists for its Himalayan peaks.

According to India’s NDTV, officials reported that Makota Sukoma died after crashing into a hillside while paragliding in Bir Billing, 131 miles (212 kilometers) from state capital Shimla.

“Sukoma took off in Billing … but lost control of the glider and crashed into a hillside,” Sunaina Sharma, local sub-divisional magistrate, told journalists, the report said.

According to reports, Sukoma was found seriously injured and was rushed to the closest hospital where he was declared dead on arrival due to sustained head injuries.
