One of Burma’s privately owned airlines plans to add half a dozen new domestic destinations and is also looking to expand to other countries in the region, according to a report by The Voice, a Rangoon-based weekly. In addition to its current routes, which include flights between Rangoon and Tachilek and connections to major tourist sites in Upper Burma, the airline will soon also fly to Tavoy (Dawei), Mergui, Kawthoung, Kentung, Thantwe and Sittwe. The airline also wants to fly to international destinations in Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia.
