Burmese President Thein Sein is among those named as potential Nobel Peace Prize winners for this year, according to a report by AFP. Although there is no official shortlist of candidates for the prize, some names of nominees have been leaked, including former US president Bill Clinton, former German chancellor Helmut Kohl, the European Union and WikiLeaks suspect Bradley Manning. Thein Sein appeared on a list compiled by Kristian Berg Harpviken, the head of the Peace Research Institute of Oslo and a close observer of past choices by the Nobel selection committee.
