The Thai government on Tuesday endorsed a proposal to allow its citizens visa-free access by air to Burma for 14 days, the Bangkok Post reports. The agreement, which must be signed by both countries’ governments before it goes into effect, will allow Thai travelers from 23 airports to avoid the normal visa requirements. Presently, that process requires an advanced application to travel in Burma as well as a fee, with the visa’s duration set at 28 days. No date has been given for the signing of the agreement. Either side can cancel the arrangement with 15 days’ notice for health or security reasons.
