Thai budget carrier Nok Air plans to open two new routes from the border town of Mae Sot to Rangoon and Moulmein in Burma, the Bangkok Post reports. On Sunday, 20 airline executives flew from Mae Sot to Moulmein ahead of the airline’s plan to operate services on that route. The move follows a recent agreement between Thailand and Burma to permanently open the Mae Sot border checkpoint to boost cross-border trade and tourism.
