Burmese tycoon Tay Za’s Asia Green Development (AGD) Bank has disclosed how much tax it has paid to the government in recent years. Citing a statement from the bank Tuesday, Eleven Media highlighted that the bank, which it says now has more than 30 billion kyat ($30 million) in capital, paid just 23 million kyat ($23,000) in the 2012-13 fiscal year. However, it said, the bank has paid “advanced taxes” for the current 2013-14 fiscal year—which runs until the end of March—of 300 million kyat. The bank has also paid 1.5 billion kyat upfront for the 2014-15 year, Eleven said.
