Burmese opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi is scheduled to tour Australia from Nov. 27 to Dec. 2, reports Radio Australia. The trip will include visits to Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne, where she is expected to attend a number of public events, including a United Nations HIV aids conference in Sydney. Meanwhile, local media has reported that Suu Kyi has also agreed to visit China after receiving an invitation extended to her by the China Association for International Friendly Contact. “I accept their invitation. It is important to build friendly relationships with all countries,” Suu Kyi was quoted as saying. No date for the proposed visit was given.
