Burmese opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi will receive another international honor next week when she travels to Germany, according to a report by the German news agency Deutsche Presse-Agentur. Suu Kyi, who has received numerous awards for her role in promoting democracy in Burma, including the Nobel Peace Prize, will be given the International Willy Brandt Prize during her visit to Berlin to meet with German President Joachim Gauck, the report said. Previous winners of the award, launched in 2011 in honor of former German chancellor Willy Brandt, include Berlin-based conductor Daniel Barenboim and Egyptian author Lailia Soliman.
