Burmese opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi arrived in Bangkok on Tuesday night for the start of a four-day visit. During her first trip outside of Burma in 24 years, she will travel to Mahachai, an area near the Thai capital that is home to tens of thousands of migrant workers from Burma, and Mae Sot, a border town that is also host to a large Burmese community. On Wednesday afternoon, after returning from Mahachai, she will attend the opening of the World Economic Forum on East Asia at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok. She is expected to visit Mae Sot on Saturday.
