The Shan Nationalities Democratic Party (SNDP), the third-largest political party in Burma’s Parliament, will hold its second national assembly in Tachilek, Shan State, according to a report by The Myanmar Times. “An estimated 600 representatives from 56 townships will attend. We will confirm the agenda after the central committee meeting on Jan. 1,” said party spokesperson Sai Hla Kyaw. The SNDP, also known as the White Tiger Party, fielded 157 candidates in Burma’s November 2010 election, winning 57 seats in both houses of Parliament and in state and division legislatures.
