Rangoon’s Int’l Standard Hotel Rooms to Rise With 65 Percent
4 September 2013
The number of international standard hotel rooms in Rangoon is expected to rise with more than 1,000 this year, The Bangkok Post reports. It cited a study by consultant Jones Lang LaSalle, which found that the city will see a 65 percent increase in international standards hotel room capacity. Rangoon currently has about 9,100 hotel rooms, only 1,500 of which are classified international standard. “Though the growth of new international standard supply in 2013 is substantial, it is from a low base and will fail to fulfill the strong growth of demand,” Andrew Langdon, Jones Lang LaSalle executive vice president, was quoted as saying.
