Thailand’s largest oil and gas conglomerate, PTT PCL, plans to start oil retailing in Burma with a local partner, according to a report by The Bangkok Post. PTT Oil Myanmar Co, which will include retailing and wholesaling, depot and transport operations, will be registered in time for the country’s planned opening of its retail oil sector to foreigners, PTT Executive Vice President Auttapol Rerkpiboon was reported as saying. PTT’s current runs a lube oil business in Burma through a local distributor, and it petroleum exploration flagship, PTT Exploration & Production PCL, is a major investor in Burma.
