Japan’s NTT Communications Corp announced on Wednesday that its Thai subsidiary has become the first foreign telecommunications company to open a branch office in Burma. According to a report by the Kyodo News PR Wire, the new branch office will work with local carriers to provide multinational companies with the information and communications technology they will need to expand their operations in Burma. The branch will be headed by the president of NTT Communications (Thailand), Tsuyoshi Kawashima, who also manages the company’s offices in Phnom Penh and Vientiane.
