The National League for Democracy said it plans to convene a nationwide youth conference later this year, reports DVB. “Over the next three months, we will be embarking on a recruitment drive to attract members between the ages of 16 and 30,” said Maung Maung Oo, the chairman of a central committee formed earlier this month to facilitate the formation of party youth committees across the country. “Once this is accomplished, we will set about planning the youth conference, hopefully for December or January,” he added. The move is part of an effort to rejuvenate the party in preparation for elections to be held in 2015.
