The National League for Democracy (NLD), Burma’s main opposition party, will send a high-level delegation to China later this month, reports the South China Morning Post. The 10-member delegation, to be led by NLD Party Secretary Nyan Win, is scheduled to travel to Beijing, Shanghai and Yunnan over a period of 11 days starting Nov. 17. There have also been reports that NLD leader Aung San Suu Kyi has accepted an invitation to visit China for the first time, although the party declined to comment on the matter and no reference to it has been made in Chinese state-run media.
