North Korea has denounced calls by the US for Burma to end its ties with Pyongyang, according to a report by South Korea’s Yonhap news agency. A spokesperson for the North’s Foreign Affairs Ministry said that Washington has moved from calling for a suspension of military ties between Naypyidaw and Pyongyang to urging a complete break between the two countries. “After first demanding suspension of military ties, the US now came to openly press Myanmar to end relations with us, branding us as a ‘bad friend,’” the spokesman said in a dialogue reported by North Korean state media.
