Nepal’s former crown prince is in critical condition in a Bangkok hospital after suffering a heart attack. Dornath Aryal, the head of Nepal’s Embassy in Thailand, said Thursday that doctors told him the 41-year-old Paras Shah was slightly better two days after being rushed to Samitivej Hospital but was still in critical condition. He said doctors were unwilling to give a prognosis until they were able to do an MRI. Shah is the only son of former King Gyanendra, who left the throne in 2008 when Nepal became a republic. As crown prince, Shah was criticized for hard partying and frequent brawling.—AP
