A 54-member trade delegation from Malaysia is in Burma this week as a follow-up to a visit earlier this month by Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak. Leading the four-day mission, which will end on Saturday, is Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Maximus Johnity Ongkili. According to a report by Free Malaysia Today, the focus of the trade mission is the information and communications technology, biotechnology and renewable energy sectors. Noting that Burma is “aggressively liberalizing trade and increasing engagement,” Ongkili said the country is ripe for Malaysian investment.
