Four personnel in a Burma Army artillery unit, including an officer, were killed during an ammunition accident at a military base in Kachin State’s Hpakant district, according to reports received by Kachin News. The four died on Nov. 21 when the 105 mm howitzer shell exploded prematurely. The blast occurred as Burmese forces shelled Kahcin Independence Army (KIA) positions in nearby Maw Mau Bum. Following the accident shelling by the artillery unit ended, according to Kachin News.
