Former US President Jimmy Carter paid a visit to Burma on Tuesday, meeting with top government officials in Naypyidaw, the state-run New Light of Myanmar reported on Wednesday. Carter, a member of The Elders, an international group of Nobel laureates that also includes Aung San Suu Kyi, met representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the US Ambassador to Burma, Derek Mitchell.
