NHK, Japan’s public broadcaster, will provide two drama series for broadcast in Burma this summer, while a dubbed version of a popular Chinese TV series is also set to go on air soon, according to The Hollywood Reporter. An NHK spokesperson said that the two Japanese series, “Carnation” and “Atsuhime,” will be offered to Burma free of charge to “help with the social and educational development of the country,” while China’s state-run Xinhua news agency said the Chinese TV drama “Jin Tailang’s Happy Life” is about to begin broadcast in Burma “to promote the traditional friendship between the two peoples.”
