Indian Army chief Gen Bikram Singh will begin a three-day visit to Burma on Tuesday, following up on earlier visits to the country by India’s defense minister and air force chief. According to a report by The Times of India, Singh will hold talks with Burma’s top leadership and visit Burmese military installations. The two sides are expected to discuss bilateral defense cooperation, including better border management and training for Burmese military personnel. India has also supplied military hardware, from maritime patrol aircraft and naval gun-boats to 105mm light artillery guns, mortars, grenade launchers and rifles, as well as radars for its warships.
