Indian PM to Begin Visit to Burma

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will begin a three-day state visit to Burma on Sunday. He will be accompanied by Minister of External Affairs S.M. Krishna, other senior officials and Indian business leaders. He is expected to hold talks with Burma’s President Thein Sein in Naypyidaw on bilateral and regional issues, and will also travel to Rangoon to meet opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi. Singh will also deliver a public address at a function organized by Burma’s business community. His visit will be the first to Burma by an Indian prime minister in 25 years.
