Three ships from the Indian navy will make a goodwill visit to Rangoon over the weekend, according to a press release from the Indian Embassy in Rangoon. The Thilawa port call will include visits by Indian naval personnel with Burmese government and military officials, and the crew will also conduct a “free medical camp” in Rangoon Division’s Thanlyin Township. In addition, “Naval Cadets and personnel from the ships will visit places of historical and cultural significance in Yangon [Rangoon] and Bago [Pegu] regions and get an insight into the history and culture of Myanmar,” the release said. The ships will arrive on Sunday for a four-day visit.
