The Thai subsidiary of Japanese electronics manufacturer Hitachi Ltd has opened a branch office in Rangoon in order to explore the marketing of its home appliances and power station equipment in Burma, Japanese news agency Kyodo reported. The company said it hopes the launch of the branch of Hitachi Asia (Thailand) Co. in the capital will help it conduct research on Burma’s domestic market. Hitachi has been engaged in infrastructure development in the country since the 1950s by providing instrument to local power plants.
