Burmese government soldiers were accused of shooting Kachin refugees living in a camp across the border in China earlier this week. The camp is located near a border crossing and the base of the Burmese army’s Infantry Battalion 77. Burmese soldiers reportedly entered the Pha Ye camp in May to pressure its inhabitants to move to a camp set up in territory under the control of IB 77.
