German leisure carrier Condor plans a weekly flight from Frankfurt, Germany, to Phuket, Thailand, that will pause on the way in Rangoon, according to a report by The Phuket Wan. The flight, which will begin in November, indicates growing interest in Burma as a travel destination since the country began opening up to the West amid a series of political reforms last year. The report cites a survey by the Center for Aviation that says the new Condor service recognizes the “huge potential” of Burma’s tourism industry.
