Burma’s Farmers Development Party has announced that it is planning to seek membership in the Japan-based Asia Farmers Group Corporation, according to a report by Mizzima. “The Corporation helps its member countries with agricultural technology, paddy seeds and also provides loans. So, we will put all our effort to become a member of the Corporation before the end of the year, so that our farmers can avail the same benefits,” the party’s chairman, Kyaw Swar Soe, said on Monday. He added that representatives of the group, which includes members from most Asian countries, will visit Burma later this month.
