An explosive device has been found in the Shan State city of Taunggyi outside a Muslim orphanage, Mizzima reports. A pipe bomb was discovered inside a plastic bag on Wednesday by a municipal worker, and military officials were called in to carry out a controlled detonation, the news agency reported Thursday. No injuries were reported. Earlier this month, three pipe bombs were discovered in a gutter in the city. A military official told Mizzima that he suspected the incident Wednesday was connected to a series of other blasts across the country in October, including in Rangoon, the commercial capital.
