Five members of Burma’s Lower House of Parliament representing ethnic minority groups are in Beijing at the invitation China’s Foreign Ministry, reports the Narinjara news agency. The five MPs, from Shan, Mon, Kachin, and Arakanese parties, as well as the opposition National League for Democracy, began their week-long visit on Sunday. Pe Than, the Arakanese member of the delegation, told Narinjara that they hoped to discuss Chinese-backed development projects during the trip. “We have lot of apprehensions against many Chinese projects in our country,” he said.
