Twenty-nine regional ministers for ethnic affairs held a discussion in Rangoon on Wednesday in advance of meeting President Thein Sein for the first time in Naypyidaw on Friday. “We discussed our inclusion in peace negotiations with respective ethnicities,” said No Than Kap, Chin ethnic affairs minister in Sagaing Region. The group said they will discuss promoting ethnic literature and culture and that they aim to meet the president twice a year. Those involved were from the Kachin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan, Inn Thar, Pa-O, Karen and Burman ethnic groups from different state and regional governments except Chin State.
