A Chinese navy hospital ship dubbed the “Peace Ark” is en route to the Thilawa Port near Rangoon after completing a six-day stay in Bangladesh, China Military Online reports. While in Bangladesh, medical personnel performed 84 surgical operations and treated 7,048 outpatients, according to the report. The ship departed from Chittagong Port on Aug. 25. “Peace Ark” is the peacetime designation of a class of hospital ships launched by China’s navy in 2007.
