More than 40 Chinese companies were in Rangoon on Tuesday to attend a business forum as part of a “China-Myanmar Brotherhood Tour,” according to The China Daily. At the gathering, Aik Htun, chairman of Burma’s International Business Promotion Center, said the country is seeking greater cooperation with partners in both Asia and the West. Li Jinjun, vice-chairman of the China NGO Network for International Exchanges, one of the organizers of the event, said China hopes to enhance non-governmental relations with Burma through small-to medium-sized entrepreneurs.
