A leader of the Chin National Front told Democratic Voice of Burma that the rebels are due to hold another round of peace talk with the Burmese government next month. Both parties signed a ceasefire in January. The Front’s Joint-Secretary Dr. Salai Shwekha said a Chin a delegation would meet with government officials in Rangoon on Dec. 7 and 8 for union level talks. “We are going to discuss implementing the agreements reached in the previous talks as well as demarcation and development work regarding [memoranda of understanding] between NGOs and the government,” Shwekha told DVB.
