Singapore-based Channel NewsAsia has set up a bureau in Rangoon, becoming the fourth foreign news outlet to receive a license to operate in Burma, according to the regional broadcaster. Rangoon is the 14th Asian city in which Channel NewsAsia has established an office. “Having this bureau in Myanmar is really breakthrough for us,” Channel NewsAsia’s Managing Director Debra Soon said. “I believe it will enable us to tell the stories of Myanmar with conviction, to be able to represent what is truly happening on the ground and to represent all parties as best as possible.”
