Police in Mumbai arrested a Burmese man and one other suspect on Sunday for their alleged involvement in riots that claimed two lives in the city in August, according to a report by The Times of India. Yusuf Ahmed Khan, 28, is accused of sending an SMS message to incite protesters against alleged violence against Muslims in India’s Assam State and Burma’s Arakan State to attack police and media. The SMS contained claims that some 30,000 Muslims had been killed in these two areas in communal riots, leading to accusations of a media coverup of the alleged atrocities.
