Golden Myanmar, a Burmese private airline, will begin flying from Mandalay to Imphal, the capital of India’s Manipur State, from Nov. 21, reports the New Light of Myanmar. The new route is part of a bilateral air services agreement signed during a visit to Burma by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh last year. The first flight is scheduled for the start of the Manipur Sangai Festival, which takes place from Nov. 21 to 30. Golden Myanmar Airline, established in 2012, is one of seven domestic airlines in Burma. According to the report, there are also plans to begin a bus service linking Mandalay and Imphal.
